It is important to acknowledge that society often overlooks the distinctive challenges Black men face. Their overall well-being remains largely unaddressed due to a combination of systemic stigmatization, implicit bias, and societal neglect. The social reality for Black men significantly differs from that of their white counterparts, particularly in areas such as healthcare, law enforcement, education, and employment. This neglect is widespread and deeply entrenched.
In my work, I intentionally depicted the Black man as being overshadowed by the struggles of white men. This artistic decision symbolizes the prevailing racial power dynamics and the disadvantages in our society.
