On September 15, 1963, a devastating event unfolded at the 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama. A bomb exploded during Sunday morning services.
Four little girls were killed in the church that Sunday morning: 11-year-old Denise McNair, along with 14-year-olds Cynthia Wesley, Carole Robertson, and Addie Mae Collins.
These innocent lives were tragically cut short by an act of racial violence.
