  • The artwork I have created delves into the intricate impact of excluding trans women from the women's rights movement.

By denying trans women their status as "real women," some feminists erroneously presume that all trans women have lived unproblematically as men. These transmisogynistic views, founded on a conflation of gender, sex, and socialization, undermine the objectives and principles of women's rights. Restricting the acceptance of trans women and girls exacerbates inequitable conditions for all women and allows misogynistic men to evade scrutiny.

I firmly stand by the belief that trans women are women. Debates centered on biology, ignorance, and stereotypes divert attention from the challenges faced by all women. If your brand of feminism does not honor trans women in their entirety, then it falls short of genuine equality.

Advocating for trans women should not solely be a moral duty for the feminist movement but a fundamental one.

In my art, I use the symbol of plastic bubble wrap as a metaphor for transmisogyny. While the bubble wrap offers a necessary shield against the harmful effects of false ideologies, it also conveys the sense of ostracism experienced by trans women.
