  • Imagine there's no Heaven
    It's easy if you try
    No Hell below us
    Above us, only sky
    Imagine all the people
    Living for today
    -John Winston Lennon, Imagine

As I immersed myself in creating this artwork, I found my thoughts drifting to "Imagine" by John Lennon. This contemplation prompted a deeper inquiry into the role of religion in our lives: Is it truly necessary for us to grasp the essential principles of treating one another with kindness and respect? Why can't we create a slice of Heaven here on Earth?

Do we genuinely require religion to uphold ethical and moral standards? It’s clear that individuals can cultivate a strong ethical framework and adhere to principles of good behavior without the influence of religious beliefs, institutions, or practices.

Let me clarify: I harbor no criticism toward those who find solace and strength in their faith. If someone's belief in religion inspires them to become a better person and treat others with compassion, then that is undoubtedly a positive force.

To me, religion can be likened to diet soda. It may have a pleasing taste, and the marketing may suggest it's beneficial, yet it isn’t essential for our personal growth or the betterment of society.
